As I’ve mentioned before, in Four Thousand Weeks, Oliver Burkeman writes about the illusion of time management — that, for the most part, there is little we can do to control our time. The whole process requires us to embrace our limits. And, let me tell you, I had to learn this in a whole new way this past month.
Limits can be imposed by the 24 hours we live by, but it can also be imposed by the curveballs that come flying our way. This past month I’ve experienced a series of events that have stretched me in all directions — emotionally, to be sure, but also physically as I hopped my way through family visits in three Canadian provinces.
