Dear Ones —
It’s a bit of a story of how I got to the moment that I shuffled a deck of animal spirit cards to pull one as a prompt during a retreat earlier this month. We were looking at the year ahead and what we wanted to focus on. I already knew my themes were constraints and the limit-embracing life. And so I pretty much laughed out loud when I pulled my animal: the octopus. 🐙
I could picture it, then — having tentacles everywhere, each reaching individually for something different; it’s the very picture of multitasking. The octopus can also be at play in relationships, indicating a lack of healthy boundaries (and, yes, perhaps this is all one and the same). My main challenge in constraining my time is ultimately having less time, of course, so “the list” can become more daunting. I’m simply not allowing as much time for tasks and work, and find I’m still in a phase of discerning where my priorities should be.
