Some of you are new to this exclusive newsletter, reserved for those here on Field Notes who pay for a subscription. Welcome — and thank you. As a professional writer, I cobble together a living from a variety of sources, from freelance work to editing and coaching, books and other contracts. I write Field Notes as an offering to this world, writing that comes straight from my heart to your inboxes. There is not much editing (on purpose; keeping it real y’all!), but each article takes me about a half day to get into prime condition for delivery (not to mention all the thought that goes into them before I start writing). I know not all subscribers have the means to invest in my written work. The world is constantly asking for our dollars. So, I am ever more grateful when I see a paid subscription come through.
