Dear Ones —

When I last wrote to you, I said, Here’s a reminder not to get caught up in the waiting and wondering. Life is happening while you’re thinking about the next thing.

Something kind of cool has happened in the midst of all that waiting, in the start-stop nature of 2022, during the more chaotic times when the curveballs seem to just keep coming.

It’s a call to simplicity. A yearning. For someone like me, this is growth and change. I used to thrive on overcoming challenges and solving puzzles — essentially proving I could do the thing, whatever it is. You’ll never take that grit and determination out of me. But, where I’m feeling warm is in the simple, quiet, undistracted moments with my family. What’s neat is that it doesn’t have to actually be quiet or lacking in excitement; it’s that all of that falls away when I focus on what’s right in front of me.
